Open Door Sports Inc. is being honored as a Bethesda Big Train Community Hero of the Night on Thursday, June 16th at their 7pm home game. At each of Bethesda Big Train’s two dozen home games this summer at Shirley Povich Field, they will honor “our area’s most outstanding community nonprofit organizations.” ODS is one of 33 organizations to be honored.

ODS will receive 25 free tickets to the game, plus a meal and drink voucher for Gregorio’s Trattoria or Catalyst Hot Dogs for each person. They will be distributed to ODS program players, ODS peer buddies and their parents. ODS player, Skylar Welch, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and during the game, ODS players, peer buddies, parents and staff will be recognized by Bethesda Big Train for their efforts to make our community a more inclusive and supportive place for all to thrive in!

The Big Train Community Heroes of the Night program is made possible by generous contributions from the Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation, Luc Sebrechts from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, The Sebrechts Family and Melanie Folstad from RBC Wealth Management.

ODS is delighted by this honor from Bethesda Big Train, appreciative of the generosity of the Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation and other sponsors, and is happy to be sharing these tickets and this experience with the families they serve.
